Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy explains how Gloss Ride collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data when you use the Gloss Ride app and website, in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Contents
1. Who we are & scope
Gloss Ride (“Gloss Ride”, “we”, “us”) is operated by [Gloss Ride Pte. Ltd.] (UEN [000000000X]), a company registered in Singapore at [registered address]. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.
This policy applies to drivers who register for and use the Gloss Ride app to accept payments, to visitors of www.glossride.com, and to anyone who contacts us. It does not apply to third-party services (such as Apple or Stripe) that operate under their own privacy policies.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Full name, mobile number, email address, and password you set when creating a driver account. |
| Identity & verification (KYC) | Private-hire (PHV) licence details, vehicle details, and identity information required to verify you and comply with regulations. |
| Payout & financial | Bank account and payout details you provide through our payments partner, Stripe, to receive your earnings. |
| Transaction data | Trip records, fares, the platform a trip was booked on (e.g. Grab, TADA), Gloss Ride fees, wallet balance and withdrawal history. |
| Referral data | The referral email you enter and referrals you generate. |
| Device & usage | App version, device model and operating system, and technical logs used to keep the service secure and working. |
We do not collect or store your customers' full card numbers — see “Payments & card data” below.
3. How we use your data
- To create and manage your driver account and provide the Gloss Ride service.
- To process payments you accept and pay out your earnings to your bank.
- To verify your identity and eligibility (KYC) and to meet anti-money-laundering, tax and other legal obligations.
- To calculate fares, fees, commissions and plan limits.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To improve and develop our products, and to send you service-related and, where you consent, marketing communications.
We rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations as the bases for these uses.
4. Payments & card data
Card payments are processed using Apple's Tap to Pay on iPhone and Stripe. When a customer taps their card, the card is read by Apple's encrypted, secure technology on the device and passed to Stripe (a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor) for processing. Gloss Ride never receives or stores full card numbers, CVV codes, or magnetic-stripe data. We receive only limited transaction details such as amount, status, and a masked reference needed to show you the payment result and pay you out.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as needed to run the service:
- Stripe — to process payments, verify identity, and pay out earnings.
- Apple — to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone under Apple's terms.
- Cloud and infrastructure providers — who host and secure our systems on our behalf.
- Regulators, law enforcement and advisers — where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Overseas transfers
Some of our service providers (such as Stripe and cloud hosts) may process data outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take steps required by the PDPA to ensure a comparable standard of protection, including contractual safeguards.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Financial and transaction records are typically retained for at least five (5) years to meet Singapore tax and anti-money-laundering requirements, even after you close your account. Data we no longer need is securely deleted or anonymised.
8. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to protect your data, and we require our processors to maintain appropriate safeguards. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the authorities of any notifiable data breach as required by the PDPA.
9. Your rights under the PDPA
Subject to the PDPA, you may:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and information on how it has been used.
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Withdraw consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your data (this may mean we can no longer provide the service).
To exercise any right, email privacy@glossride.com. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.
10. Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. See our Account & Data Deletion page for exactly what is deleted, what we must retain, and how long it takes.
11. Website cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies needed for the site to function and basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
12. Children
Gloss Ride is intended for licensed drivers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
13. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change.
